Empowering Change for Our Future
A dedicated public servant and leader who will work for you in Congress by supporting your needs and values.
To restore accountability, integrity, and service to Congress, we must prioritize the people of Georgia’s 14th District. Star Black is committed to showing up, doing the work, and delivering real solutions — from creating a Caregivers Network that supports families to bringing good-paying jobs to our communities. She ensures that every voice in GA-14 is heard in Washington. Public service should be about results, not headlines, and as a dedicated Republican, Star is ready to work for you every single day. Star Black has spent her life in service to others — showing up on people’s worst days and working tirelessly to help them rebuild.
A 28-year retired veteran of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Star worked on the front lines of disaster recovery with local, county, and state governments, nonprofits, and private partners to deliver resources and relief in the aftermath of disasters. Her job was to bring logic to chaos, solve problems under pressure, and be a good steward of taxpayer dollars. I focused on solutions every day.
Public service is about showing up when times are tough, not creating chaos for personal attention. In Congress, I will listen to your concerns, fight for your needs, and put the spotlight where it belongs — on the people of the 14th District.
Her personal journey also includes being a caregiver for both her husband and her mother while working full-time. That experience drives her vision for a Caregivers Network — a one-stop resource where families can quickly find the services, support, and relief they need. She knows that at some point, everyone will either be a caregiver or need one.
Star has called the 14th District home for 17 years, with deep roots and a strong commitment to making it a place where everyone can thrive. She was the founder and former CEO of four businesses. She had an exclusive contract with FedEx Ground/Home Delivery. All businesses were based in the 14th District. Star knows the difficulties a lot of small businesses face daily.
She’s ready to bring her decades of problem-solving experience, entrepreneurship, and responsiveness to Congress and represent the people with the respect and dedication they deserve.
The Founding Fathers never intended for politics to become a lifelong career or a path to personal wealth. Yet too many in Washington treat Congress as both. That’s why I believe Members of Congress should be prohibited from trading stocks while in office, and I support term limits for both the House and Senate. Public service should be about integrity, accountability, and delivering results for the people—not profit or power.
Families in Georgia’s 14th District should not have to live paycheck to paycheck. We need to attract new industries, support small businesses, and invest in workforce training programs that prepare people for the jobs of tomorrow. As your representative, I will work to bring good-paying jobs to our communities and ensure that every county in the district benefits from economic growth, not just a select few areas.
At some point in life, you will either be a caregiver or need one. I know firsthand how challenging that role can be. I cared for both my husband and my mother while working full-time. Too often, caregivers don’t know where to turn for help. That’s why I’m proposing the Caregivers Network. A single, easy-to-access resource that connects people with government programs, nonprofits, churches, foundations, and private services. It will include contact information, costs, and descriptions of services so caregivers can spend less time searching for help and more time caring for their loved ones.
Our elected officials work for us (the taxpayers) and it’s time they act like it. In 2024, our current representative had one of the lowest attendance records in Congress and admitted to voting on a major bill without reading it. That’s unacceptable. I believe public service means showing up, doing your homework, and making decisions based on what’s best for the people you represent, not chasing headlines. As your congresswoman, I will read every bill, be present for every vote, and keep you informed about the decisions being made in Washington.
